Bio for Dr. Denise Acton

My story- I struggled for many years in my 20’s and 30’s with a low thyroid that was never diagnosed by Western Medical doctors. Infertility, feeling tired and losing my hair were my main symptoms. It wasn’t until I sought out a Naturopathic Doctor that I discovered my blood tests were on a subclinical low end of normal and thus started on a program of natural remedies where I saw changes in my health and was able to conceive a child to full term. This led me to further my degree and get a doctorate in Natural Medicine and Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture as well. I started my own practice in 2006.

I am passionate in helping people achieve their greatest potential in body, mind and spirit. I treat and work with all types of western disease states and look at all possible reasons and responses to their body’s energy field.

Acupuncture: What is acupuncture, and how does it work?

Acupuncture is a part of Ancient Chinese Medicine. It works by stimulating the nervous system, improving the flow of oxygen (Qi), nutrients and blood through a specific network of blood vessels to nourish every cell in your body. The #1 cause of pain and disease is blood stagnation (blocked blood flow). Acupuncture helps unleash pain and stagnation and improves blood flow and oxygen to all cells.

Benefits: Reduced pain and inflammation, improved vitality and energy, better sleep, and eliminated stress.

Hair Analysis: Hair is used for mineral testing as we search for an abundance of heavy metals or toxic elements. Multiple nutritional imbalances are quite common in the world we live in today and can increase adverse health conditions. Proper mineral balance is critical for abundant health.
